Nef pulled into the parking lot of the condo she shared with her roommates Stephanie and Jesse. It was Friday and the girls had agreed that they would go to Russia House – a lounge in DC with Ovie and Sasha. Nef walked into her apartment after working at her internship in DC. Jesse and Steph were standing in the living room in their underwear with most of the clothes from their closets scattered around the room.

“I don’t know what to wear!” Steph said as Nef walked in.

“Well neither do I,” Jesse replied. “Nef you have to help!”

“We’re going to a lounge. Pick a dress and heels. It’s not that hard.”

Nef walked past her roommates to her room. She had already decided what she would wear. She decided on a simple black dress which showed off her hour glass figure and a pair of red peep toe pumps. Nef had never been the type of girl to spend hours agonizing over what to wear, how to do her hair, or how to do her makeup. She had simple and elegant tastes in clothing and hated spending too much time on getting dressed.

“If it helps I’m wearing a short black dress with red shoes.”

They were supposed to meet the guys there at 9:30. It was now 5:30. Nef had more than enough time to shower, wash and straighten her curly hair. She wanted to pull it up into a nice elegant ponytail that curled at the end. When she got out of the shower both Jesse and Steph were exactly where she’d left them.

“You guys are hopeless! Steph wear this and Jesse wear this. Think you can pick your own shoes? “

“Smart ass!” Jesse yelled behind Nef as she walked away.

By about 9:00 the girls were putting finishing touches on their makeup and about to head out. Jesse sent a text message to both Ovie and Sasha saying that they would be heading out soon.

We be there. Sasha take too long to get ready. He want look pretty for Baby Puke.

Ovie was still calling Nef baby puke and no matter how many times she told him to stop he wouldn’t. Once they were in Nef’s car Jesse told them that Ovie and Sasha were also on their way and would meet them in the parking lot. When they pulled in they spotted Ovie and Sasha’s Mercedes. They pulled up beside his car and Ovie jumped out to open the door. He was dressed in a white shirt, black jeans, and a Dolce and Gabbanna belt. Sasha was dressed in a lavender button down shirt and jeans.

“Baby Puke! You look hot and you not tell me you have a third beautiful roommate! Three hot girls –it’s my lucky night!”

“Yeah, we clean up pretty nice,” Jesse joked. “American girls can look hot too!”

“We wait for Mike and Nick. They decided they come too.”

Once Mike and Nick got there they walked up to the door and were escorted inside and up to the fourth floor lounge. There weren’t very many people on the fourth floor and the guys wouldn’t be bombarded by fans. The first thing Ovie did was buy a round of shots for everyone.

“That burns. What is it?” Steph asked.

“Wodka,” Ovie answered.

“Vodka does not burn like that!”

“It’s Russian wodka,” Sasha said with a smile.

Sasha pulled Nef over to a couch to sit and talk. Everyone else decided to go out on the dance floor but Sasha said that he didn’t dance.

“You played well this week,” she said.

“You not see all games. You in class. I play bad.” Sasha said smiling.

“Liar! You played well. I watched them in class from my laptop.”

“Bad! You not pay attention to professor.”

Ovie sat down in the empty seat beside Nef and handed her another drink.

“Didn’t take you long to get her alone, did it?”
Ovie said in Russian

“Shut up and go away,”
Sasha said.

“Okay okay. I’ll go away. I can see you want her all to yourself.”

Ovie smiled and winked at Nef before walking away. She took a sip of the drink and liked it.

“This is good. I wonder what it is.”

Sasha took the drink from her and tasted it.

“It called Moscow Mule: wodka, ginger ale, and lime. Be careful of drinks from Ovie. He like them strong.”

Nef and Sasha spent a few more minutes talking before Steph came over and said “Dance with me!”

“I don’t dance.”

“Bull!”

Steph grabbed Nef by the hand and pulled her on to the dance floor. Russia House actually played a decent mix of Russian and American dance music. Nef and Steph went to the middle of the dance floor. They were both really good dancers. Nef’s family was from Egypt and she had studied belly dancing since she was 2. She had hips and she knew how to use them. Steph noticed that Sasha had yet to take his eye off of Nef. She leaned in a whispered in her ear “Sasha’s staring. I think he likes what he sees.” Nef rolled her eyes and said

“Whatever. We’re just friends.”

It was around 2:30 am when they decided to finally call it quits and head home. While walking back to the parking lot Sasha told Nef that he was glad that she came and the he enjoyed hanging out with her. He walked up to the driver’s side of her car and opened the door for her to get in.

“Just kiss her already!” Ovie said in Russian.

“I talk to you later,” Sasha said as he shut her door.

He walked over to his car and pushed Ovie against the door.

“Get in.”

On the ride home both Steph and Jesse interrogated Nef on what she and Sasha had talked about.

“Stuff: school, hockey, Russia, here, hanging out. Normal conversation.”

“Riiiiight,” Jesse told her, “you two were flirting all night!”

“Whatever. He’s cool to hang out with, nothing more. “

Chapter 3 - New Friend?

It was Tuesday morning and Nef was working at her internship but she had classes in the evening. She was currently working on creating an organizational structure for her boss. She was in the process of documenting the firm’s global structure. Half way through the morning her phone beeped signaling a text message from Sasha S.

“Baby puke, you come to morning skate?”

She texted back “No, I have to work.”

“You come to game?”

“No, I have class tonight. ”

“University?”

“Yes. Play well tonight.”

The caps were playing the Rangers tonight and by the time the puck dropped Nef had been in class for about an hour. She tried to pay attention but her professor reminded her of Ben Stein. Jesse and Stephanie had been texting her updates but it wasn’t long before she decided to watch the game online instead of taking notes on her laptop. Nef loved her classes but a 4 hour seminar was torture. When she turned on the game it was about 6 minutes into the second. One of the guys sitting next to her noticed the game on her screen and wrote “you’re amazing” on the top of his notebook. Sasha ended up scoring two goals with the caps winning 5-1.

There was a game on Thursday and Nef would be able to go because her class was only one day a week with a great deal of the work being done online. When she got home she sat in the living talking to Jesse and Stephanie about the game.

“It was amazing!” Stephanie said. “I had never been to a hockey game before. It seems really cool.”

“Haha, I’m glad you enjoyed yourself. Sasha texted me before the game to ask if I was going.”

“Which one is that?” Stephanie was still unfamiliar with the individual players.

“Number 28.”

“Oh, he’s one of the cute ones!”

Jesse and Nef laughed at Stephanie. It was true that Alex Semin was one of the cute ones but they had been trying to get Stephanie to like hockey because of the game and not because of how hot some of the guys were. Hopefully as Steph learned more about hockey and understood the ins and outs of the game she would enjoy the skill that each player had.

Thursday evening came and Jesse and Steph were getting ready to go to the game. The Caps were playing the Maple Leafs. Nef sent a text message to Sasha. “Play well. I want to see a good game tonight!” It wasn’t long before she received a reply asking if she would be there. She responded that she would be there in section 100 across from the home team bench. She told him her row and seat number just in case he decided to look for her. They arrived at Verizon center about a half hour before the game started and the team was warming up.

She saw Sasha scanning the section, stood up and waved. He saw her and smiled. Nef and Sasha had been texting back and forth. Sasha was nearly fluent in English. Nef had always thought that Sasha knew more English than he let on. She believed that Sasha knew English, he just didn’t speak reporter. It seamed like he avoided the American media at all cost. She now had confirmation that she was right. She couldn’t understand why Sasha had wanted to talk to her or hang out with her. Yes they had had a good time at the amusement park but was that really reason enough to want to make a new friend? It seemed like it.

The game was much like the Rangers game. The caps won 6-2. They did not allow a goal until the second half of the third period. Sasha had another 2 goal game including the game winning goal. He had been playing strongly. He was announced the first start of the game . Once he got back to the locker room he sent a text to Nef asking if the game was good for her.

She said that it was very good. Sasha began to undress quickly. He wanted to get out of the locker room without talking to the reporters. He wasn’t that lucky. Dmitry Chesnokov walked up to him along with Tarik El Bashir. They wanted to talk about how he was playing. He been working on not taking bad penalties and so far he had been doing well.

He spent a few minutes with them briefly going over what he had done for training over the summer and his plan for the season. His phone beeped signaling a text message so he excused himself from the interview. He grabbed his bag and headed to his car. He had been texting and talking back and forth with Nef since they exchanged numbers at the Season Ticket Holders Party at Six Flags. He and Ovie had saw her talking to her roommate, Jesse, trying to convince her to get on a roller coaster. She was cute - 5 foot 5, caramel brown skin, curly dark brown hair, and big brown eyes.

They had spent the few hours that they had riding every roller coaster in the park. It was nice to be able to do something normal for a little while. He loved his career and wouldn’t trade it for anything but it was nice to be able to go to an amusement park, hang out with friends, meet new people, and have fun.

He was looking forward to Friday and being able to just have fun.

Chapter 2 - Coaster

The next day was the season ticket holder party at Six Flags America. Jesse and Nef decided that they would so even though that had already gotten autographs form just about all the players. They thought it would be fun to go and ride roller coasters. When they got to the park the autograph lines were in full swing and it was the perfect time to grab a bite to eat. They had to walk past the table where Ovie and Mike Green were signing autographs.

“Hey baby puke!” Ovie yelled.

Nef turned around and waved at Ovie. Semin and Backstrom were sitting at a table not too far from Ovie and Mike Green. They started laughing and pointing at her.

“You no wear my yoorsey today?” Sasha asked as Jesse and Nef walked by the table.

“Not today. I don’t want to get puke on it if that evil baby is here,” Nef joked.

Both Nef and Jesse were wearing Washington Capitals t-shirts and zipper hoodies. After grabbing food the autograph lines had started to dissipate and the players were making their way to the roller coasters. Ovi and Sasha headed straight to the Superman. Nef was trying to convince Jesse to get on the roller coaster with her.

“Come on! It’ll be fun.”

“Hell no! I’ll hold your purse but I’m not riding.”

“Sissy!”

“Baby Puke you ride with us,’ Ovie grabbed Nef by the arm and pulled her towards the gate.

“See, you’ll have a great time without me.

Jesse grabbed Nef’s purse and waved as Ovie pulled her toward the ride. He put her in the seat next to Sasha. As soon as they got off the Superman Nef pointed to the sky coaster and said that she wanted to ride it. It was a tall arch that simulated flying. Alex grabbed her hand a pulled her toward the ride. It was set up so that three people could into the harness. Ovie placed Nef in the middle. It wasn’t long before they had ridden every roller coaster in the park. They had even managed to drag Jesse on a ride or two.

“I have fun today,” Alex said when they stepped of the last ride.

“Me too Baby Puke.”

“Ovie my name is Nefertiti not baby puke,” Nef glared.

“Ok Baby Puke, I understand. You fun. Come out with us Friday. We go to Russia House.”

“Sure, sounds like fun.”

Nef exchanged numbers with Ovie and Alex before walking back to Jesse.

“What was that?” Jesse asked Nef while they were walking back to her car.

“We’re going to Russia House on Friday.”

“I heard, but did you really need to Semin’s number too?”

Jesse and Nef joked back and forth while driving home. They were really excited about the possibility of hanging out and partying with the guys at Russia house. When they arrived at home Jesse went straight to Stephanie’ room.

“You’ll never guess what Nef did today.”

“What?” Stephanie asked.

“Nothing!” came the reply through the wall.

Jesse spent the next half hour telling Stephanie everything that happened at the park and that they were going to Russia house on Friday.

Chapter 1 - Little Bity one

So after reading about a million fan fiction blogs I've decided to give it a go...Let's see where this goes...

*********************

Nefertiti and Jesse were sitting in the stands watching the Washington Capitals practice. Coach Bruce had started the team off doing sprints while he spoke with the assistant coaches Dean Evanson and Bob Woods. The teams defensive game had been lacking through the preseason.
Bob had come up with the idea two split the team into two practice squads and have the forwards play as defense men while the defense men played as forwards. The squad that scored the most goals (from the defense men as forwards) would win a prize that h ad yet to be determined while the losing team would have practice on a day off and would spend that practice skating sprints.
The stands were pretty decently filled with fans since it was a Saturday.

“I’m so excited for this season Nef! Your d ad is amazing for buying season tickets and you’re amazing for bringing me!”

“No problem. My dad has always had season tickets but with this being a busy year with the hospital he wouldn’t be able to make it to most of the games. He asked if I had someone to share the tickets with and I thought of you.”

Nef and Jesse were roommates. They had joined the same sorority in undergrad and went to the same university for grad school. They had known each other for 4 years and got along well. It was only natural that the become roommates.

Bruce blew the whistle for the teams to line up and begin the scrimmage. It lasted for about an hour with the score being tied and needing overtime. Naturally the team to score and was the one with Mike Green on it. Bruce called the guys over to him to have a brief talk before he sent then to the locker rooms. Most of the players went over to the fans to sign autographs before showering.

Nef was wearing her Alex Semin jersey and Jesse was wearing her Mike Green Jersey. They had taken off their jerseys for autographs.

“Is that a baby Varly jersey?” Jesse asked spotting a woman next to her hanging a baby in a mini caps jersey over to Varly.

“That’s so cute!” Nef said as Varly handed the baby back.

The woman wanted to get a few more autographs and asked Nef and Jesse to hold him. Nef grabbed the baby while Jesse held their jerseys.

“You’re so cute!” Nef cooed as she held the little guy in her arms.

The baby began to fuss when his mother walked away so Nef held him so that he could sit on her hip and see his mother. It wasn’t long before the little guy threw up a milky white mess onto Nef’s t-shirt.

“Oh that’s nasty,” Jesse said laughing.

A couple of the fans and players standing around started to laugh. When the lady returned she apologized and offered Nef baby wipes to clean up the mess. Alex Semin and Nick Backstrom were pointing and laughing.

“Oh this is just great. I think it‘s time for us to go,” Nef said as she left Kettler Iceplex
